Crafting Services

Post by Jonkga »

Hey there folks, I just wanted to say that Tarrek is 300 Armorsmith/300 Mining, so if any plate or mail wearers need any armor made, just let me know. If you've got mats (or even most of them) I'm sure I can whip you up something useful.
Also, Quendaran is 225 Tailoring/225 Enchanting, so if you're looking for any cloth armor, bags (even the specialist bags), or buffs on items, let me know as well, and we'll work something out.
Thottbot.com and other sites list what can be made by professions and what mats are, for more research, and of course I'm not looking to make coin off of friends, just help you get outfitted.

Even if we aren't playing at this time, a great deal of this can be done through in game mail (except for soulbound items). So, it's still possible.

Similarly, if folks could post what professions they have, maybe we could share some resources. For instance, I may be hitting up Zil to craft me some potions, once I do some more research and figure out what I may need.

Just a thought...

Urabus just dropped smithing in lieu of skinning last night, so I'll definitely be taking you up on this. :)

Erilar is a gnomish engineer and skinner. Mirabella is a tailor, and everyone else has only gathering professions. I've gotten to the point where it makes more sense to just make the cash and buy what I need crafted. More money and less profession skill grinding...

As for Zil and potions, all Erilar can say is: Elixir of the Mongoose is good food. :)

Durric is all kinds of engineering...prob not as high as Erilar though!

I'll have to check out armor. I do have bronze coming out the wazoo (couple hundred bars), so I can give that...

Peric is 300 Blacksmith/Armorsmith (like Jon). Also 265 Enchanting.

Danduin is 164 Tailoring (making 10 slot bags). Also 165 Enchanting.

OK, Jon - you asked... :)

For Urabus:

Green Iron boots, gauntlets, leggings, shoulders, and bracers
Hardened Iron Shortsword
Iron Shield Spike

I sent you the plans for the green iron shoulders in case you don't have them, and I'll send you cash to cover the mats from AH

Thanks tons!

OK, done and done! :)

All items crafted and mailed to Urabus. I sent him the plans too, as I did not need them.

Here's Zil's skills:

Alchemy: 173/225
Herbalism: 202/225

If there's a particular potion you'd like, let me know and I'll see what I can do. As far as crafting stuff goes, those armor improvements that you guys were throwing around before are always useful. I'm not sure about the rest; I'm not fluent enough in what I have, and what's possible. :)

On the components front, I really need two kinds of fish: Firefin Snapper and Oily Blackmouth. If you have any of them please send them my way. Snappers in particular, as I need them for firepower potions; Blackmouth is needed for waterbreathing, so if you send me fish I'll send you potions of that.

Damon, when you can, post what armor you have.

Some of the things that Jon or I can make you are:

Silvered Bronze Gauntlets
Binds when equipped
Hands Mail
118 Armor
+4 Strength
+4 Stamina
+3 Spirit
Durability 35 / 35
Requires Level 22
Sells for 9 Silver 65 Copper to vendors
Item Level 27

Shining Silver Breastplate
Binds when equipped
Chest Mail
214 Armor
+14 Strength
+6 Stamina
Durability 120 / 120
Requires Level 24
Sells for 29 Silver 35 Copper to vendors
Item Level 29

Silvered Bronze Leggings
Binds when equipped
Legs Mail
176 Armor
+7 Strength
+6 Stamina
+6 Spirit
Durability 75 / 75
Requires Level 26
Sells for 28 Silver 42 Copper to vendors
Item Level 31

I forget exactly what level you are, but we can almost certainly make you better armor than you have currently.

Ken, I can send you mats for all of the healing potions you can make for Danduin! :)

Sure! So is there an easier way to gather alchemy components than to constantly forage for them? Is it worth a trip to the trading house?

Well, it's up to you how to best get the mats. If you don't mind spending a few hours gathering, then that's certainly cheapest.

After more than a year of play, I go to the AH to get my materials. :)

Yeah, it's really a playing time issue. If the mats are easy to gather, then we'll find them in the course of our adventures. If not, and the potions are truely helpful, then I buy the mats on the AH.

IMO, most of the "enhancement" potions aren't neccessary during lower-level adventuring. If we have them on hand from you creating them to level up Alchemy, fine. We should use them. If not, I wouldn't go nuts worrying about them. I'm not including healing potions in this group either - they seriously save on repair costs and down time from corpse runs.

What I'm saying is, potions are more crucial in the endgame. You're basically levelling up alchemy so you have easy access to potions then. Otherwise, besides healing potions, mostly we'll go to potions for situational benefits like water-breathing, etc.

IMO - Urabus, as the tank, and Quendaran, as the primary healer and rezzer, should always have a stack of our best-available healing pots on them. It will simply save the day and avoid a full party wipe. Everyone else should have a handful as well, if possible. One can't bandage during combat (if getting hurt), and healing pots will save us many times over.

But to answer your question directly, if we don't have the mats on hand for crucial potions, like healing, then Urabus and the other cash-rich characters will simply spring to buy them from the AH.

Zil, Quen, and Durric will most likely be more broke, because you aren't selling the resources you gather like Urabus is. You're burning those mats that you've gathered to level your crafting profession rather than selling them for a big profit. So, you've got one gathering profession, and you're burning all those mats. I've got two gathering skills, and am selling it all! :)

The reason I dropped blacksmithing is that is seems to be the single most awful crafting profession to grind up. It takes incredible amounts of materials, and we already have two skilled armorsmiths in Tarrek and Peric. I also have plenty of contacts where we can get high level weapons made. So, Urabus is going the route where I'll simply buy my gear with cash, and supplement the others who are grinding crafting as needed.

Ken,

Tarrek is currently leveling up his fishing skill, and is catching Firefin Snappers and Oily Blackmouths in staggering quantities. So, I'll send em as I catch em, and you'll have plenty to go round. :)
