Why I kept losing (to Bob) in A Call to Arms

Post by Lars Porsenna »

So the player that lost initiative gets to move one ship first, then alternating to the player that won initiative, and back until all ships are moved. Then, the player that won initiative gets to shoot one ship first, then alternating to the player that lost initiative. I think we were playing it that the person that won initiative fired all his ships first. This can greatly unbalance the game...

Damon, had this revelation while reading the rules to Star Fleet: ACTA.

So is it the same on the firing phase (and every other phase?) eg i shoot, you shoot, I shoot, etc.?

Yep, that's why I asked you to look it up after our last game. The way we were playing it gave a hUge advantage to the player who won initiative. The actual rules sound a little more balanced. :)

Correct. So the person that loses initiative doesn't get gang-raped...
