From Nethack to play-by-post forums on the WWW, the first thing that computer geeks do upon inventing a new medium is play Dungeons and Dragons with it—the porn comes later, after the role-playing game itch is scratched.

Very cool article, and awesome that they were showcasing it with Mouse Guard as the RPG in question. :)

Yeah, I though that was neat too. I've got to say, when I first started hearing about Wave, it struck me as a potentially great tool for gaming. Because the Wave merges the functions of chat AND email/forums, you have the ability to have real-time and time delayed conversations. So you could go into chat mode during a lunch break (thus greatly speeding up the game) and then drop back into email mode afterwards.

In theory a Wave invite is working its way to me, but unfortunately it hasn't arrived yet.

Man, how true! I'm going to have to check out Wave now... There was a similar article last week demoing a D&D program on Microsoft Surface. I If you haven't seen D&D on Microsoft Surface check that out here: http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/20/dandd ... t-surface/

Interesting.

Yeah, Cory, Gabe at PA posted about that Surface demo - very cool indeed, but a bit pricey. ;)
