For this guy, I took a level of Aristocrat first, then some fighter, then some Kensai. I gave him the feat "Well Read" so that I can treat all knowledge skills as class skills. I figure his skill points are better spent on knowledge than on say, Jump. I also created a unique shield for him that will help replace Torthen's bardic music benefits.

Kensai Class abilities:
"• Signature Weapon(Su): You must choose one of your weapons to become a signature weapon. You focus part of your life energy on the weapon, making it more effective in your hands and your hands alone.
• Power Surge(Ex): You can make a DC 15 Concentration check as a move action to gain a +8 to your Strength for 2 rounds. Each time after the first that you successfully use this ability in a single 24-hour perior, the check DC increases by 5.
