Combat

Post by NukeHavoc »

I think that before we run a real game, a few of us should get together and try out the combat system, either with our real characters or with some of the book's archtypes. I can see fights as being one of our larger challenges, and a battle or two before hand should speed up the actual game nicely.

So, I'm really interested in playing in this campaign - is there room for me?

Are we all going to need to buy books? Is more than one book needed - it sounded like you guys had also bought a supplement?

Duh, of COURSE there's room!

One book is the most that's required, and maybe not even that. If we have 3-4 books for the group in total, that should cover everyone.

I'm sure we can fit you in. :) As far as rule books go, only the core rule book ("Mutants & Masterminds 2nd Edition") is needed. I got the Freedom City source book because it's the default campaign setting, and has a lot of good background and villains in it, but it's really more of a DM book (unless you want to know more about the setting, then feel free to get it -- there aren't any huge secrets in there).

BTW (and I should really post this as a separate thread) I don't think this needs to be a once and done thing. If we all turn out to like M&M, then I could see running a serial adventure every few months or so -- think of it as a series of one-shot graphic novels. :)

I agree. The game mechanics are pretty straightforward.
