So when does everyone (or anyone) want to do the next playtest?

Until further notice, I'm free on Tuesday nights and Friday nights.

I think I can swing Tuesday, though I need to check with Sue (and I'll probably be on baby/kid duty, but Jordie goes to bed at 8, and Luc's pretty easy to handle at the gaming table).

Any thoughts on the kinds of combatants you'd like to go up against?

Guys without Impervious! :)

How about some mystical characters or a boss with a few minions?

Tuesday should work for me. Are we using our "own" characters, or just the example chars from the book?

I would think that one boss super bad guy with some mooks would be an interesting thing to playtest so you know how such a combat would go, GM-wise. We can always say another super villian just arrived if the mooks KO too easily.

I used my own, Nate was using an example from the book (Paragon), since he had just recd the book that day.

Either is fine. You might want to use an archtype character from the book that's similar to your character concept to see how its powers work out. That way you're informed when you go to build your character.

Or you can just build one and see how well it works. I think you'll learn a lot either way.

Have you guys had any luck using the Excel hero builder thingie? I have been taking notes on my char while reading the book, and am just about ready to start putting her on paper.

Nope, no luck at all. It seems to be just a character sheet, not a character builder, ala Heroforge.

So my character is just on paper.

So how did the second playtest go?

Psionic and Speedster went down like chumps... Costumed Adventuer is good, Energy Wielder was OK, Powerhouse is really good... but Powerhouse and Costumed Adventurer together couldn't beat Evil Robot.

The range increment for a thrown Costumed Adventurer (Hulk throws Batman) is 50 feet.

Falling damage sucks when you don't have Impervious Toughness

That's hilarious. Range increments for thrown superheroes ... I love this game. :)

I'd say Energy Wielder was better than ok. He took down the psionic and didnt he also take down the speedster? And he would have lasted longer if he didnt end up in the grapple of the powerhouse :-P

If only that damn powerhouse couldnt have jumped up 100 ft and grabbed me in the air... it would have been all over then!

Yeah, the mistake I made with the Psionic was not using the Force Field early enough so it would be up
