Orient Express circa 1938

Post by setanta14 »

With the opening of the Simplon Tunnel under the Alps connecting Switzerland and Italy in 1919, a more southerly route (the Simplon Orient Express) avoiding Nazi-controlled territory of the Arlberg Orient Express, could be taken, but passage across Fascist Italy, and the pro-Fascist/pro-Nazi Kingdom of Bulgaria would be unavoidable:

France(Paris)/Switzerland(Lausanne)/Italy(Milan-Venice-Trieste)/Kingdom of Yugoslavia(Belgrade)/Kingdom of Bulgaria(Sofia)/Turkey(Istanbul)

I found my mint condition TSR Top Secret Orient Express Module, complete with fake coffee stains on the big pull out plan of the rail cars. I'll bring it next time.
