Recap - Continued

The PCs spent some time in the reading room, pouring over Quirinseyru's strange journals. They discovered the following things (in the journal entries above):

1) Quirinseyru noticed that after the PCs disastrous mission to save Gwendolyn they started becoming bitter and their personalities seemed to change.
2) Quirinseyru then discovered that Bannock, Balisar and Naziah had not turned. They were still changed somehow but they did not give in.
3) Bannock, Balisar & Naziah confirmed that The Master was in fact Erk's warlock patron.
4) Bannock proposed a dangerous plan to attempt to redeem Jareth, in which Balisar and Naziah would recover Aegenthal from Jareth's tower, while Quirinseyru developed an alchemical brew which probably/maybe would have permanently turned him back into an elf, and Bannock was going to kidnap Jareth and bring him back to Quirinseyru's home.

5) Several weeks passed with no word from Balisar and Naziah. Quirinseyru recovered components and completed his alchemy. Bannock successfully joined up with Brigga & Jareth, Mordai, & Erk.
6) Quirinseyru several more weeks passed and Quirinseyru decided to bring the clones back to his fortress for safe keeping. He was able to recover Brigga, Balisar, Mordai, Jareth, Erk and Thulik, who is the half-orc clone still in the stone table room behind the Reading Room.
7) Quirinseyru put a charm on the clone bodies to help protect them from destruction.
8) Quirinseyru discovered that some sort of magical catastrophe happened at Erk's tower. Much of the top is missing, though there is no debris anywhere near the tower.

After gleaning all they could from the journals, the PCs explored the Tower. They found several abominations within, including mimics and cloakers. They also found a door to a passage through the mountain that led into the main cavern tunnel, just past the portcullis.

Preparing themselves with magic, the PCs explored the sunken passage and were promptly attacked by huge constrictor snakes, which proved to not be too much trouble. Pushing on, the PCs found themselves in a large cavern with the skeleton of a huge dragon on the cavern floor. When they approached, the skeleton's rib cage began to stir, and two snakes seemingly made out of bone arose out of the corpse. They derided the PCs as the Lost Lieutenants, unimpressed. However the battle with the bone nagas was short and sweet.

After the nagas were destroyed, the PCs began to look around the cavern and just caught sight of a dragonborn warrior with jet black scales and a two handed sword made out of some sort of green crystal as he teleported away.

I'll deal with most of what you find in the other thread, but you find another journal, discarded in a corner of the caverns. It is blank, just like the one that Brigga carried with her. You take the Journal back to the reading room, where it magically fills with writing, revealing the following:

1) Bannock warned Quirinseyru that the PCs were preparing to attack him. Quirinseyru prepared and when the PCs arrived, Bannock and Quirinseyru fought them together. When Brigga killed Bannock, Quirinseyru became enraged and slew the remaining PCs.

2) Erk fatally wounded Quirinseyru during the battle, using some horrible blade which had two effects on Quirinseyru: a) the blade stole a piece of Quirinseyru's soul, and b) the blade sundered Quirinseyru's innate magic killing him.

3) In his dying act, Quirinseyru, fogged the PCs memories to give their clones a chance to recover from whatever damage had been done to their souls, essentially 'resetting' them to their younger selves.

4) Quirinseyru was a silver dragon (as suspected by some members of the party).

5) The Tieflings in Farweald are hiding something for Quirinseyru ....
