Bannock says:

Onarra, excellent job with the chest. We should probably put this stuff with the rest of our loot.

Onarra, you recognize the rapier - any idea what it does?

Brigga, you successfully disrupted the teleport circle, any chance you could loosen this chest from thw ground here? We should probably keep it with the others we,ve collected.

Quarion, thank you for chasing that skull off, again. I'm sure it'll be back. Anyone have a clue how to permanently destroy it?

Ok, let's talk to these folks we've rescued. The kosagrites, the dwarven expidition, the caravan."

Bannock will ask the folks from the caravan who they are, what they were carrying, where they were headed, if they are familiar with the town we are based in, etc. Bannock will provide some food and drink while talking to them.

Onarra will keep a general watch around the perimeter while mostly giving her attention to Miette's rapier (an hour or more to divine whatever properties she can through examination, concentration, etc.)

The only real thing Kage has to offer the group is that he'd prefer to keep adventuring. He doesn't care if it's to the other tower or this Dwarven stronghold. He just doesn't want to go back to town until we have a good reason to be there. It's a strange place.

I'll sum up the conversations here and if anyone else has any additional lines of questioning, we can either deal with them here or online on Sunday.

Bannock talks to the folks in the caravan. They were travelling from Rookroost (to the South), up to the north of Tenh to trade with the barbarians. They were carrying seed grain and some luxury items (gemstones, jewelry). The giants intercepted their caravan a few days south while the caravan was on the road into Tenh. The caravan survivors have been there the longest. They report that Balisar and the flameskull often seemed to argue and that the flameskull seems to have initiated the arguments, often by attacking Balisar with spells. Balisar has destroyed the flame skull quite a few times.

Mordai talks to the remains of the adventuring party hired by Master Maesek to try and find the rumored dwarven stronghold/mine/whatever. They were defeated several days north and west of the giants camp. Their leader was a human ranger from the Gnarley Forest, away to the south and west. The adventurers were fairly well equipped with magical gear, all of which the giants put in the big chest in the tower. The adventurers are upset that their gear doesn't seem to be in the chest anymore. There are a few tense moments when they accuse you of keeping their gear but the issue is quickly resolved because a) you don't seem to have any of their gear, b) they are in no shape to press the issue even if you had and c) one of them decries his fellows for worrying about petty possessions when they have just been spared from captivity and being eaten by giants.

However, they do mention two pieces of gear that stand out. Their wizard had a Wand of the War Mage that was made out of living water. The prisoners saw Balisar wielding it. The Gnarley Ranger had a beautiful Elven Cloak with an acorn clasp, which is emblematic of the Gnarley Rangers.

Brigga speaks to the remaining members of a former search party from Obsidian Bay, looking for some missing dwarves. They are able to narrow down the location of the suspected dwarven stronghold/mine. Bannock makes note of their info on his map and has a good idea in which direction to look. These adventurers also report that their magical gear was put into the big chest but they are stoic about its loss.

Bannock will ask the party what they'd like to do next.

"Folks, we have just rescued a large number of individuals. How shall we help them out? Do we escort them to safety? To Farweald? Do we send them off on their own, unequipped? Do we give them some/all or our cartsand horses?

What is are plan? On to the dwarven stronghold? Back to town to confront people?

Do we need to rest here for a time?

What say you all?"

You have 10 freed prisoners, btw. 3 from the caravan, 3 from the adventuring party hired by Master Maesek, 4 from the adventuring party sent by Lord Mayor Malphus of Obsidian Bay.

Brigga looks up from her work. Then to Bannock. Then to the chest. She focuses intently on the chest for a solid minute, gritting her teeth. She then seems to relax, if only marginally. "Yes Bannock," she says. "I agree. The chest should not be left here."

She focuses on the chest again, attempting to discern how it might be freed.

(prepares to take meta game damage)

Brigga would normally argue to press on for the dwarven ruins and avoid that thrice-damned human "city" behind. However, since I'll only be able to play for half of Sunday's session Brigga will grudgingly admit that the ruins have been there for this long, they'll likely survive another day, and we should escort these people back to "safety". It does give us the opportunity to confront people who need confronting, and given Brigga's foul mood, that seems to fit her just fine.

Given that I cannot make this Sunday's game at all, Bannock will volunteer to escort the 10 survivors we rescued back to Farweald, along with the other NPC's we had in tow, or to another city/town of their choice if there is a closer one. That should only take about two of our carts. I can bring any loot/equipment the party doesn't want to carry, and we can decide as a group if we want to donate any stuff to the survivors.
That way, Brigga and the rest of the party can investigate the dwarven stronghold as a unencumbered adventuring party.
Bannock should be able to make his way back to the group without too much delay in the future.

Bannock will propose this solution when he sees Brigga bristling at not getting there quicker.

You actually only have one wagon. It's a pretty big wagon that Lonz used to transport things into and out of Farweald. It is currently storing all of your extra gear, food, and food for the horses. You also all have horses or ponies.

There are 2 NPCs with you from before, Aldin and B'Narl, from Obsidian Bay. Since some of the adventuring party they were sent to find has been found, they use this time to communicate back to Obsidian Bay for instructions. The party they were sent to find, the remnants of whom you have found, was tasked with finding some missing dwarves who went to make contact with Brigga's people (dwarves searching for Brigga's people, adventuring party searching for dwarves, Aldin and B'Narl looking for adventuring party).

Previously you had promised Aldin and B'Narl that you would accompany them to the suspected region of the stronghold of Brigga's people looking for all of the above (Brigga's peeps, OB dwarves, adventuring search party).

I'll get some info on the rescued adventurers, but they want to complete their original mission of finding the missing Obsidian Bay dwarves, Luc, Duklar and Moraim.

Which is not to say that you can't send them all packing. Maybe Brigga doesn't want a bunch of hangers on to come find her people with her. That's ok. Maybe it makes more sense to send the combined OB search party remnants back to somewhere to rest/regroup/rearm/resupply. That's reasonable too. Just putting out options.

I'm going to post some more info on the rescued prisoners tomorrow. There are several with skills that the party may be able to make use of.

Brigga has seen something similar to this exactly once before: sovereign glue. :)

Brigga speculates that you could always try and break up the rock underneath the chest and just take part of the flagstone with you ...
