Halo 3 Night?

Post by erilar »

Are any of you interested in playing tonight? I really need a break.

Also, any of you interested in picking up the new maps if we play? They look cool, and are $10.

New maps eh? I suppose I should get those.

I *may* be able to play Halo 3 tonight, it's a function of how much party prep I have to do.

Well to be honest, if I can weasel out some gaming time, my biggest focus is going to be in finally Finishing the Fight. I'm on the 2nd to last chapter, and would really like to finish the game.

I'm going to try to play campaign when I get home, and then get on later to play with you guys. Of course, this is probably a vapid pipe dream that will be quickly smashed by some family responsibility, but we'll see. :)

I'll be online. I'm still only on chapter 6. I figure I'll finish it eventually. Till then I'm happy to play multiplayer.

I'm so annoyed that I can't get co-op to work. I opened some ports on my router, and the NAT network test now give me a "Open" result, when before it displayed "partially restricted" or whatever.

Last week though, Cory and I tried it but no dice. Maybe this new Dashboard update helped - I know there were a few fixes implemented for different routers.

Hey there, I am dining with Deb tonight, so am probably a no-show for xbox.

Bob, however, is available. He and I finished a day of some righteous clix-ing, and he's up for some halo goodness.

FRACKING AWESOME!

For those that were not there, the game description from halopedia:
Rocket Race is a VIP Gametype in Halo 3 on Xbox Live. The gametype has eight players divided into four separate teams, Red, Blue, Green, and Gold. It involves using a Mongoose to reach a destination to gain points. It is also loosely based on a Gametype called Race that was featured in Halo:Combat Evolved.

The game has set point limit of 10 to reach, with each destination reached earning you or your VIP 1 point. At the start of the match, one VIP is randomly selected from the four teams, with the VIP acting as the gunner and the other teammate as the driver. Drivers of the teams then proceed to escort their VIP's to the different destinations on the map, while the VIP's focus on keeping the other teams away with their weaponry. One twist to the game however is that it is a Rocket Launcher only gametype with no damage enabled. This results in players and vehicles flying around the map when any rocket hits their vehicle. This type of game focuses on fun and often chaotic gameplay.
[edit]
Trivia

* Rocket Race replaced Social Doubles on the social playlist of Halo 3.

* You can still get MVP, but it's determined of how many enemy VIPs you killed, the only way to kill in to assassinate (or knock them into mines on Sandtrap).
