Don't know if anyone uses 1up.com for reviews, but it and it's associated sites were just bought out by UGO.com. Without warning they fired a large portion of the crew (there was no sign that was going to be their plan after acquiring 1up). I use 1up for my game news, so I thought I'd forward this on.

I never spent a lot of time on 1-Up, but sorry to hear that a lot of their staff got let go.

I don't think Ziff Davis is all that healthy, so not surprised to hear this.

Cory, maybe try out IGN? I've always enjoyed their content.

I used to use IGN, but after one too many poor reviews on things I really liked I drifted from them. Thats when I started checking out 1up. Fortunately my favorite reviewer is still on staff at 1up, but some of the other guys I liked were let go. I'll stick with it for a while and see what pans out. Just wanted to share the news in case anyone else checked out 1up.
