These studies are retarded. Here's an idea - do the same study, but apply it to people who watch a lot of TV. Guess what - those people will tend towards the heavier side too and probably be mildly depressed.
Oh, and if you study a bunch of avid hikers or pick-up basketball players? They'll tend to be in better shape.
Then there's the news flash that video games are escapism. Damn, REALLY??? I thought that people went to the movies to dwell on their day at work. Total waste of a research grant...
