I'd love to get some online gaming in also. I'll probably be on, so please shoot me a message if I am.

GOTY edition of B:AA adds 3D,and supposedly its pretty cool. Not enough for me to buy the game again, but it would be cool to check out. Imagine creeping through those vents and its in 3D - sounds awesome. :)

Sorry I didn't make it on tonight/last night - I could not get connected to xbox live. Not sure why. Connect to the internets just fine. And, the xbox sees my router and the internet fine, its just the connection between the internet and xbox live that seems to be the problem. Sucks.

This is exactly the problem I've been having. The Xbox has an IP address, but I get a "no IP Address" error???

Psst - quick! Everyone tell Lance they can't get connected to XBL - we'll all change our Gamertags and he'll be none the wiser!
:P

Seriously though, you guys having any luck? Have you guys tried just resetting your routers (AKA unplugging them for 5 mins)? Routers are flaky things, and sometimes that's all it takes.

Upside of all the solo-game time: I finished Arkham Asylum last night. Fun game. A little frustrating in places - there was a little too much of the old school trial-and-error method of figuring out how to beat an enemy or boss for my tastes in places. I'm really getting to dislike any mechanic that makes you repeat the same fight or task lots of times, the occasional button-flub aside.

Yes, but that shouldn't do anything since the net works fine on ALL the laptops. But I did it anyway just in case...

Yeah, not sure exactly what causes it. I've been through all the internet connectivity steps I can think of, but when I run the on-xbox diagnostics, they seem to indicate the xbox can see both the router and the outside internets just fine.

For me, I still think that its due to my wireless setup and being on an older (Lance's original xbox) bridge. I plan on running a physical cable so my xbox will be wired right to the router switch. Hopefully that will clear things up just fine. I know I can game without being connected to live - but I like it better when everything works as it is supposed to and I can get connected.

Wondering if the last Xbox upgrade boned the system...?

Are there any decent Xbox forums not filled with hyperactive 15-year old trolls I could get help from?

No, probably not. Geezer Gamers, by definition? :)

I've actually found the official MS Xbox forums to be fairly civil - especially if you'll be in a networking/technical forum or the like. There's a lot of good into in the stickies there as well about router settings and the like.
