BT Ship Names

Post by Hardcorhobbs »

So Binary Transports has a fleet of 6 ships. Three are already named, but we need names for the others. Anyone have any suggestions?

I was thinking something along the lines of Force Jumper for one, a reference to the jedi who are their biggest customer.

On a related note, do we know for sure what kind of ships all six are?

And, I have a revised edition rules ship that I think is cool, and would make an excellent BT ship, but I don't know how to convert it to saga rules.

We know what the three named ships are (Regress, Cloudskimmer, and Harrier), but we haven't really set the other three. Which ship is it? It may be converted already, and if not I've gotten pretty good with the starship rules so I could likely convert it.

It's a ship from an RPGA adventure that I have printed out - I'll look up the details when I get home.

As for ship names, what about old school nautical type names like, "The Boundless"? Or, things that play on our other ship names, like "The Twofold Wanderer" or "The Enlightened Lorry"?

Just some initial thoughts...

Oh, and doing a little digging online seems to indicate that the ship I am interested in may be stat-ed out in Galaxy at War. Does anyone have this? (Ken probably has two...)

Yes, I have Galaxy at War. So does Cory IIRC.

I have it right here... There's the YU-410 light freighter ( the cloudskimmer is this model) and the wayfarer-class medium transport which has a detachable cargo pod. If the latter is the one you were speaking of, we may want two...

It is totally the wayfarer-class with the detachable pod. The deck plans are on wookieepedia if they aren't in the book (just search wayfarer-class) and I have the deck plans from an old RPGa module handout. I've always liked the design.

Glad we have saga stats. :)

And, if we get two of the wayfarer-class ships, we should probably name them something similar, or a pair of names that reference each other or something cool like that. :)

We could also go with names that play off of the Infinite Regress. Things like, "The First Cause" or "The Unmoved Mover", etc.
