First Impressions?

Did some quick research. Here's the stuff you need for the quests (unless they changed it):

350 gold
10 Arthas' Tears (Herbalism)
6 Arcanite Bars (Mining/Alchemy)
40 Runecloth
5 Stratholme Holy Waters (Boxes in Stratholme)
20 Enriched Manna Biscuits (Must be friendly with Argent Dawn to purchase) 50 g's

Once you've gathered the items, it takes a dungeon run to Dire Maul and Scholo to complete - you and I should be able to solo those.

I loaded up the game as well as the 1st expansion last night. I may give it a swing tonite. Unfortunately no lvl 70+ characters (durric is at 37 IIRC) so I won't be able to adventure with you all...

Damon, my second character is a 40 or 41 Mage. I think his name is Danduin.

I can hop on and adventure with you when you want to play.

Damon, Zack and I are leveling like crazy with our Recruit-a-Friend XP bonus. We'll be lvl 40 in no time.

Plus, maybe we won't directly adventure together right away, but we can always talk on Ventrilo and text chat. Plus, if you are having trouble with any quests, you've got some very dangerous big brothers to call on.

Not to mention a really great guild in DoNA.

Bob, the Outland quests will totally hook you up with new gear, so you won't need to buy anything but training. Save your cash for your epic mount and flying mount training - those are your big upcoming expenditures.

Damon, if you plan on signing up, let us know. If one of us sends you a Scroll of Resurrection, it nets us a free month of play. (Then you just have to talk Ken into playing and you can get one too!

Yeah, the last two nights were quite fun. I was adventuring by myself in game, but Tues I was talking with Lance over Vent, and last night I was text chatting with Bob as we explored separate regions of the world.

Check your email before activating your account. I sent you a Scroll of Resurection just to be sure you get one, but if Lance already did, be sure to use his first.

Simply click on the link to take advantage of it - it'll tell you what to do.

It is now 1:40am....STILL UPDATING!!!!

Estimated time of completion, 4:40am. Or at least that is the hope (the updater says "final" unless they're just jerking me around). So yeah, it is taking OVER EIGHT HOURS to get the game updated, and this was on top of spending all nite last nite installing the kirffing software! WTF???

Yeah, starting from the original disks, you're talking a monumental amount of updates. If you have the Burning Crusade disks, it's a bit better, and with the Wrath disks, it's even better. Just tons of content have been added since the original game launched.

Still, hard to believe it's taken overnight. You really should pause your anime pr0n torrents to max out your bandwidth.

Hang in there, man - it's worth it.
