KOTOR trailer

Post by Lars Porsenna »

I don't know if everyone saw this, but I just finally did, and yeah it gave me the shivvers! Pretty awesome stuff, so much so that I wish someone would come along and make a KOTOR SW movie...

That's pretty damn awesome. And I second Cory -- how great would it be to see a KOTOR-era game using these kind of CGI? [shakes head] Wow ... just ... wow.

Which reminds me. ... WoW is dead to me once this game comes out. They better damn well have Mac support ... but I'd dual boot for this.

Haven't seen the trailer yet - will watch at home.

Beware the hype machine. Cool-looking games rarely deliver, and MMOs even less so. Still, lotsa hope for this one due to Bioware.

And then there's the question of whether TOR will require a new, state-of-the-art PC to play the damn thing. (I'm totally over that trap.) Lets hope they learned that crucial lesson from Blizzard!

I HAVE a new, state of the art gaming machine so I'm excited for teh awesome! :P

And if the game is good, I'd give up WoW for this game. If it's good.

So I've watched the trailer again a few times. It just gets totally better.

Without giving anything away, when they all light up in the dark .... omg.

Remember when we said that someday George will become one with the force and someone else will take over and make SW cool again?

I want Bioware to be the ones. Could you even IMAGINE a full length movie which was like this? Even an animated movie that was completely in this style!?!?! It would make BILLIONS!!! I wouldn't have to be ashamed of still likeing Star Wars!!!

I hadn't seen this. Damon, thanks for posting it.

I gotta say, it makes me sad. I, too, would love to see a movie, or movies, based on this premise. It makes me sad we won't be getting even one.

I, however, am not excited for this game. I don't want to play that scenario out. I want to luxuriate in a good story being told well. I want nothing to do with mucking about in a game that is a shadow of this trailer. Call me a pessimist, but I don't see the game living up to this trailer at all. We shall see.

And, this isn't even me being all negative and depressed. That trailer is exceptionally exciting. It just doesn't get me excited for the game. It makes me want an animated movie that isn't coming. At this point I'd rather see that.

I must say, however, that I am totally obsessed with this trailer. I've shown it to just about everyone in my dept here at work. :)

Hehe - yeah, I watched it once, and then had to go find a higher resolution one at Gametrailers.com! :D I'm excited to show it to Zack - he's going to poo himself.

And I must agree with Jon that even though this trailer looks fantastic, the game certainly still has to prove itself.

I'm very interested to see what the next generation of MMOs will be like. I don't just mean the next successful one, but the one that truly takes the genre to the next level. It would certainly be cool if this were the one. Bioware has certainly paid their dues. A true WoW-killer will be something to see.

Bounty Hunter, Scoundrel, and Sith Warrior classes. Hutta, Ord Mantell, and Korriban planets. Conversation and flashpoint decision making. Even looting lightsabers. Looks cool. :)
