Damon, I seem to remember you saying you beat ODST. Since you don't play on Live, were you planning on trading your copy in?

If so, I'd like to buy it from you - I could check to see what GameStop is offering now. I'd like a second copy so Zack and I can play Firefight mode together, and also the second disk with all the H3 multiplayer map packs for him. Lemme know.

Hi lance,

Sorry, I'm going to be keeping my copy, since I'm a HALO junkie... :)

Yes, I really liked how they did the story too.

Maybe now we can do some on-line co-op!

ODST and Bad Company 2

Post by erilar »

So, which do you prefer - playing as a Spartan with the shields, or playing as an ODS trooper with the visor imaging? I really liked being the underdog ODST. Felt like a more contemporary military shooter to me.

Speaking of which, I got my feet wet in Bad Company 2 today. Holy crap, I'm enjoying this one so much. First thing I did was turn off aim assist, since there's no aim assist in the multiplayer mode. On Normal, I'm finding this setup to be a good challenge.

The destructible environment really creates great immersion. The visuals are frigging phenomenal - this is a really pretty game. Everything looks like a cutscene, and I'm finding the vehicle setpieces to be spectacularly cinematic.

The weapons have great weight and perception of power, and the soundscape is one of the best I've experienced in a while. The battle is all around you, and the gunfire, explosions, and chatter are all mixed and spacially oriented perfectly. I love how the enemy chatter brings them alive and simultaneously gives you clues to their location without breaking the immersion via a radar minimap. The character dialog is hilarious, and interjects some good laughs to break tension between intense fights.

Microsoft also makes a VGA cable for the 360 - you could hook it up to your computer monitor if that would work with the layout of your room?
