The Mandalorians
Hey guys, as soon as you're done please post your Mandalorian here so I can get a sense of what the party will look like. Mandos are 8th level using a 28 points for your ability scores. Remember for equipment you can have the following:
1) Mandalorian Armor (Standard, Crusader armor and upgrades will become available in game)
2) A regular gun with two upgrades, a set of pistols each with an upgrade, or a special gun with one upgrade
3) One non-standard piece of equipment (such as a jetpack, slicer kit, tools, etc.)
4) Standard adventuring gear
If you have any other questions post em up!

Re: The Mandalorians
Where is all the upgrade stuff? I only have the Core book and the KOTOR book, and I don't want to buy/borrow a whole bunch of other books.
Is there info on upgrades in those books?

Re: The Mandalorians
KotOR introduced upgrades, so you should be completely fine just working out of there.
Re: The Mandalorians
Well, in looking at the KOTOR book, it seems that Scum and Villany introduced the upgrade system. The KOTOR book seems to list the Mando armor and says how many upgrade slots it has, but I don't see where it lists what upgrades you can add, or what upgrades are available for guns, etc.
Its ok, I plan on pretty much taking the standard armor and wepaons, and actual upgrades will be gathered through play, so no real worry.

Which Mando armor? Light, combat suit, etc.Hardcorhobbs wrote:Hey guys, as soon as you're done please post your Mandalorian here so I can get a sense of what the party will look like. Mandos are 8th level using a 28 points for your ability scores. Remember for equipment you can have the following:

Re: The Mandalorians
I think that depends on your character (i.e. some classes can't wear medium or heavy armor)... but I'll double check tonight to make sure.Jonkga wrote:Which Mando armor? Light, combat suit, etc.
Re: The Mandalorians
According to the KOTOR book, the Mando combat suit and Light Armor both come standard with a jetpack. So, your item 3 above seems redundant if referring to the jetpack.

Re: The Mandalorians
Also, the KOTOR book doesn't detail weapon upgrades at all, so I'm not sure what to do about that. As my playtime is still most likely rather limited by work, I'll probably just outfit my guy with a basic gun, and we can figure the upgrades through play just as with the armor.
I plan on making a melee specialist wearing combat gloves, so I'm thinking he'll have a blaster carbine for his ranged weapon.

Re: The Mandalorians
Do we all get Mando'a as a free bonus language, or do we have to "buy" it with our build (not sure my 10 Int allows for that)...

Re: The Mandalorians
I seem to recall that Cory said he still wanted jetpacks to be special items for this pre-Mando war era. IIRC, this decision was because before the Neo-Crusader times, the jetpack wasn't a common Mando fashion accessory.Jonkga wrote:According to the KOTOR book, the Mando combat suit and Light Armor both come standard with a jetpack. I'm in the same boat here - my char was going to take some jetpack feats and such. I'm going to be a big trend setter - jetpacks will be all the rage this spring.

Re: The Mandalorians
Oh yeah, I'm all for the jetpack, and plan on having one - I was just noting that what I think is the armor we are starting with comes with one, so it may not need to be a separate item on our list.erilar wrote:I seem to recall that Cory said he still wanted jetpacks to be special items for this pre-Mando war era. I wasn't done with my errands until 9:30 last night, so I never got to look. I'll have to check it out tonight.

Re: The Mandalorians
I'm planning on building a Mando Scout. He's going to be a stealth/recon specialist.
Another daring escape for the intrepid Spaceman Spiff!
Re: The Mandalorians
I posted my guy in a different thread, as I filled this one up with questions.

Re: The Mandalorians
I'm thinking of making the survivalist/maker from hell. He'll have all custom built weapons, armor, etc.; if you didn't build it yourself, you're not living the Mando way. Think Forge from the X-Men at his most hardcore crossed with Wolverine.
He'll be either scout/scoundrel or soldier/scoundrel; I'm still playing around with builds. I'd toyed around with different noble variants, but the cool toys kept drawing me back.
