Doing some further reading on the subject, surface gravity could be as much as 1.59Gs, which I think puts it out of useful colonization range (ISTR that humans have serious health issues when living under sustained gravity of more than 1.5Gs due to body size/mass -- chickens do better however!)...

I prefer to call them "Squats." They'll create a craftsman culture based partially on the influences of the Hell's Angels, and the motorcycle culture of the US. They will then be eaten by an alien intelligence that biogenerates vast hordes of...
