Turn 1 Battles!
Ok, for turn one matchups we have:
1) Lance (Kurgons) trying for the JumpGate, opposed by Tom (Decados)
2) Tom takes Emerald unopposed
3) Bob (Decados) takes the Devil's Tear unopposed
4) Ken (Hazat) trying for Spearpoint, opposed by Damon (Hawkwood)
5) Damon (Hawkwood) trying for the Glassworks, opposed by Bob (Decados)

Re: Turn 1 Battles!
Since the rules don't specify, I'd suggest that the person who determined the strategic objective (thus the attacker) roll for the scenario, and the opposing player roll for fleet point total.
So for example, Lance will roll for scenario and Tom will roll for point value. Remember, when rolling for point totals, each player can choose either +3 to the roll or -3 to the roll. It's supposed to be secret, but I'm not sure how we'll do that online.

Re: Turn 1 Battles!
That works. For the fleet point roll, the opposing player can put his modifier in the online die-roller while the attacker adds his modifier to the scenario roll. Just to clarify, the modifier can be any of the values between +3 and -3.Since the rules don't specify, I'd suggest that the person who determined the strategic objective (thus the attacker) roll for the scenario, and the opposing player roll for fleet point total.
Lance (attacker) rolls for scenario, adds (+3, +2, +1, 0, -1, -2, -3) to roll to be applied to fleet point total.
Tom (opposing) rolls for fleet point total, adds (+3, +2, +1, 0, -1, -2, -3) to roll
This is all assuming Ken doesn't mind remembering to extrapolate the modifier from Lance's scenario roll.

The Jumpgate fight (Tom v Lance):
The scenario roll result is 6 - Space Superiority. I have emailed Ken with the modifier I wish to add to the fleet point level roll.

Re: Turn 1 Battles!
Damon, I think you got it backwards. You roll for points in your battle against Ken since he's the attacker, roll for Scenario against me since you're the attacker in that battle.
So the 3 is for points against Ken, the 9 is the scenario Towering Inferno against me.
I rolled for points in our battle and actually got the same as you, 6+3=9. My modfier is +3 for a total of 12, +/- your chosen modifier.
(unless you want to reroll stuff because you were mixed up)

Re: Turn 1 Battles!
the die-roller is constipated:
The roll for fleet points is 8 (results forthcoming as per above) and I will mail my modifier to Ken soon.Note: It looks like there's a problem with the e-mail gateway that process messages sent from the web servers. At the moment there's a backlog of messages on the server which is why messages are being delayed. We're having an admin look into this problem and try to get is resolved as quickly as possible. Once it's resolve the queued messages will be sent.
