So, I was at the Portal today for new comic book day, and saw the new Star Trek Attack Wing game.

Which bears a striking resemblance to X-Wing.

In fact, aside from the minis themselves, all the other parts of this game are identical - the dice, the distance measurement pieces, the attack range finders, all the stats, the bases, etc.

How are these identical, but offered by different companies. Sure, I get the intellectual property might be owned by different companies, but how can they result in basically the exact same game?

Hmmm.

The producers of the Star Trek game are licensing the rules from Fantasy Flight:

Thanks, Damon. I was a bit confused, but that clears it up.
