The Master
The Master is a Green Dragon named Aradace'Nurvalosuryte (Aradace Nur Valos Uryte). Translated into Common, the name means "The Mighty Masked Master of Lost Lore", or "The Master" for short. In Draconic, the short version is "
Valos".
In elven he is Nelluon Tura’ik Thron’que (Tura: Master, Nelluon: Hidden, -que: Forgotten, -ik: Mighty, Thron: Lore), which again, is “The Hidden Mighty Master of Forgotten and Forbidden Lore” or simply,
i’Tura (The Master).
In dwarven he is Baribol’Kronok’Bolval (Kronok: Master, Bol: Hidden/Secret, Bari: Mighty/Crushing, Val: Magic/Draconic), or “The Hidden and Powerful Master of Secret Magics”, or simply,
n’Kronok (The Master).
Background:
1) The Master was Apprenticed to the Green Hags known as the Mothers in the Feywild.
.... a. The Mothers taught Valos how to provide magical power to mortals via warlock pacts.
.... b. Valos grew too powerful for the Mothers to control so they parted ways (amicably).
.... c. The Dryads known as the Daughters came later and have heard stories of Valos. They think he may have some other creature or dragon type in his background because Valos has some different color scales.
Current Operations:
2) The Master is currently trapped in the Donjon.
3) The Master’s current servants had been searching for his Lost Lieutenants (the PCs).
.... a. Valos wanted to influence/trick/command the PCs to all close their Soul Portals
4) The Master has successfully recruited several of of former Lieutenants.

Resources/Abilities:
5) The extent of Valos’ abilities is unknown.
6) Valos was albe to use a True Resurrection spell to bring back Miette.
7) Valos is able to serve as a Warlock patron.
Valos has been able to enchant several powerful magical items.
9) Valos has been able to teach various followers magical abilities (providing a source for followers to become eldritch knights or arcane tricksters, for example).
10) Valos has been able to awaken latent magical abilities or somehow implant innate magical abilities (sorcerers).
Goals:
11) Valos has been using Farweald as a trap for adventurers.
....a. Adventurers use the isolated town as a base to adventure in the woods.
....b. The Master’s servants in town direct adventurers into dangerous sections of the woods, ensuring their deaths.
....c. The adventurer’s loot is funneled to the Master, somehow.
........i. The Master’s Treasure Chests are a key part of transporting treasure to Valos.

............(a) It appears that a lot of treasure is drained into the Book of Infinite Souls
........iv. Why does Valos need a lot of common and uncommon magical items? Is it just draconic greed? Or is it something more?

12) More powerful adventurers who don't die in the forest are captured/taken by The Master's agents in town while they rest and recover.
13) With the successful recruitment of several Lost Lieutenants, The Master has had them successfully close the stable portals that were tied to their souls.
....a. It is speculated that with each portal closed, The Master moves closer to being freed from wherever he is trapped.
